International Terminal, Waterloo

London Continental Railways (LCR) are converting the lower levels of the former Waterloo International Terminal into retail and leisure uses to create a vibrant new destination at the heart of the UK’s busiest train station.

The new proposals will provide the opportunity to reuse a building which has been closed since Eurostar services moved to St Pancras in 2007, and will deliver modern retail and station facilities to complement the existing facilities at Waterloo International.

Digital Inc. were appointed by LCR to carry out a complete 3D laser survey and BIM-Ready model of the post strip out site in two phases. As the site was under heavy strip-out and construction, we worked with Skanska who assisted with the survey control and site access coordination.

The complex site comprises of former Eurostar departures, arrivals and car parking levels. Our BIM-Ready Survey enabled Corstorphine + Wright to accurately plan and design around the existing structure and services.

Highly accurate point cloud data and 360 virtual tours provided all stakeholders the confidence they desired to make informed and timely decisions, reducing risks on site and coordination issues.
