Centennial Park Exhibition Place, Toronto
Digital Inc were approached by our partner, SVNG, to conduct a comprehensive 3D BIM-Ready survey of Centennial Park. The park, located in the heart of Exhibition Place, is a popular destination for visitors and hosts a range of events throughout the year. The goal of the survey was to create a comprehensively detailed 3D model of the park to assist with future planning and development.
To begin the survey process, SVNG conducted a full 3D laser scan of the park’s interior and exterior. This scan captured accurate measurements and details of the park’s various features, including its paths, trees, gardens, fountains, and seating areas.
A full 360 virtual tour of the park was delivered to provide the client with an immersive experience. This virtual tour allowed the client to explore the park and gain a more detailed understanding of the space.
Using the data collected from the scans, we created a BIM-ready survey of the park that was ready for use by the client’s planning and development team. The survey was developed to LOD300, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the model. We worked closely with the client to convert the park’s fixtures, fittings, and equipment into BIM and create a separate model for each area of the park.
The completed survey provided the client with a detailed BIM-Ready Survey of Centennial Park that allowed them to visualize and test their plans before any physical work was carried out. This helped to reduce costs and ensure that the park’s unique features were preserved.
